Introduction to Surat Al-Falaq

Surat Al-Falaq - God Almighty says, “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak, that is, O Muhammad, refrain and seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak, that is, the Lord of creation … from the evil of what He has created, that is, from the evil of all that God Almighty has created … from the evil of the dark when it comes, that is, from the evil of the night when it enters and turns back … and from the evil of the blowers in knots, i.e. witches The blowers... And from the evil of an envious person if he envies, i.e. the Jew, from the envy of the Prophet and his magic

Information about Surat Al-Falaq

Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak, from the evil of what He created, and from the evil of the dark when it approaches, and from the evil of the blowing in knots, and from the evil of the envious.

  1. Whoever says it in the morning and in the evening is enough of everything, and it is said three times
  2. - Abu Abd al-Rahman Ahmad bin Shuaib told us, he said: Amr bin Ali told us, he said: Abu Asim told us, he said: Ibn Abi Dhi’b told us, he said: Usaid bin Usaid told me, on the authority of Moaz bin Abdullah, on the authority of his father, he said:
  3. We were struck by darkness and darkness, so we waited for the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, to lead us in prayer. He said: Say: He is Allah, the One, and Al-Mu’awwidhatayn in the evening and in the morning, three times. Everything will suffice you.
  4. Yunus bin Abd al-A'la told us, he said: Ibn Wahb told us, he said: Hafs bin Maysara told me, on the authority of Zaid bin Aslam, on the authority of Moaz bin Abdullah bin Khabib, on the authority of his father, he said:

I was with the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, on the way to Mecca, so I was alone with the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, so I came close to him, and he said: Say, so I said: What do I say? He said: Say, I said: What do I say? He said: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak until he sealed it. Then he said: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the people until he sealed it.
  6. - Muhammad bin Ali told us, he said: Al-Qa’nabi told me, on the authority of Abdul Aziz, on the authority of Abdullah bin Suleiman, on the authority of Muadh bin Abdullah bin Khabib, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Uqbah bin Amer Al-Juhani, he said:
  7. While I was leading the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, on a campaign, he said: “O Uqbah, say,” so I listened. Then he said: “O Uqbah, say,” so I listened. He said: Say: He is God, the One, so he recited the surah until he finished it, then he recited, “Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak,” and I read with him until he finished it, then he recited, “Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of people,” so I recited with him until he finished it, then he said: I seek refuge in the like of them to no one.
  8. Ahmad bin Othman bin Hakim told us, he said: Khalid bin Mukhalled told us, he said: Abdullah bin Suleiman Al-Aslami told me, on the authority of Moaz bin Abdullah bin Khabib, on the authority of Uqbah bin Aamer Al-Juhani, he said:
  9. The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to me: Say, I said: What should I say? He said: Say: He is God, one, Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak, Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the people.
  10. - Mahmoud bin Khalid told us, he said: Al-Waleed told us, he said: Abu Amr told us, on the authority of Yahya, on the authority of Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Al-Harith, Abu Abdullah told me that Ibn Abbas Al-Juhani told him:
  11. - That the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to him: Oh frowning, shall I not tell you? He said: Yes, O Messenger of God. He said: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak, and say, I seek refuge in the Lord of people, these two chapters.
  12. - Amr bin Othman told me, he said: Baqiyyah told us, he said: Bahir bin Saad told us, on the authority of Khalid bin Maadan, on the authority of Jubair bin Nafir, on the authority of Uqba bin Aamer, he said:
  13. I gave the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, a gray mule, so he rode it and took ‘Uqbah to lead it with him. He said: Read, say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak from the evil of what He created, so he repeated it to me until I read it, so he knew that I was not very happy with it.
  14. It has been said: The reason for its revelation and the surah after it: that the Quraysh mourned, that is, they mourned those among them who were known to infect the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, with his eyes, so God revealed the two exorcists to seek refuge with them from them.
  15. I counted the twenty surahs that were revealed, after Surat Al-Fil and before Surat Al-Nas.
  16. And the number of its verses is five by agreement.
  17. It is well-known on the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud in (Al-Sahih) that he used to deny that (the two exorcists) are from the Qur’an and say: The Messenger of God was commanded to seek refuge with them, that is, he was not commanded that they are from the Qur’an.
    The Companions of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, gathered to recite them in prayer, and they were written in their Qur’an, and it is true that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, recited them in his prayers.
