A servant’s supplication for himself is one of the things that are beloved to God (Glory be to Him), and in it is a feeling of comfort, reassurance, tranquility, and confidence in God that He will manage the matter from Him, and every person traveling wants to be more reassured and wants to remove the feeling of fear from his heart, so there is no refuge from this except for God ( Glory be to Him).

So the traveler remembers God throughout the journey until his heart and mind are at peace, and after that he puts his trust in his Lord. And we will talk more in this article about the traveler's supplication for himself, and the virtue of this supplication.

What is the correct travel prayer?

On the authority of Ibn Omar (may God be pleased with them) that the Messenger of God (may God bless him and grant him peace) said takbeer three times, then said: “Glory be to Him who subjected this to us, and we were not appreciating it, and we are returning to our Lord. You will be satisfied, O God, make this journey easy for us, and make its distance long for us. O God, you are the companion in travel, and the caliph in the family.

It is obligatory for every Muslim traveler to say a prayer when traveling.

The traveler's prayer for himself

  • The traveler's supplication for himself is considered answered and desirable with God (the Almighty), so the traveler supplicates for himself with success and that God (the Almighty) protects him from the evils of the road and travel, and that he relieves his distress and provides for him and honors him.
  • But it must be one of the reasons for traveling that it is for worship, work, or useful knowledge, and not for any act that is harmful to others.
  • On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may God be pleased with him) on the authority of the Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace), he said: “Three calls are answers that there is no doubt, in which they are called.
  • The meaning of the hadeeth is that these three supplications are the supplication of the oppressed that is not rejected, and the supplication of the traveler and the father for his child is undoubtedly answered, so the traveler throughout the duration of his travel will have his invitation answered until he returns, and the intent is not that he returns, i.e. when he returns from his stay from his travel, no, because if he stays in The place of travel is the same as the rest of the people.

The preferred supplication of the traveler for himself

After the traveler says the travel prayer, he must say a prayer by which he protects himself from all evil on this way, and the prayer is:

  • “Lord, protect me and every traveler, and return us to our family and loved ones safely.
  • “Oh God, you are the companion on the journey. Oh God, you are the beloved on the journey.
  • Oh God, protect me in my travels and in my travels. Oh God, protect every traveler until he reaches his destination and facilitate his path. I entrust you to God whose deposits are not lost.

After these supplications, his heart will be at ease, God willing.
